Punjab Board of Technical Education was founded to provide high quality technical education and training in Punjab up to the intermediate level. In the disciplines like business administration, commerce, vocational, computer science and others, the intermediate level classes and diploma education is distributed by PBTE. All those institutes in Punjab which teaches students the subjects of D.Com, DBA, DAE, DDM etc. are affiliated with PBTE and it is necessary for all these institutes of public and private sector to get affiliation with PBTE. Otherwise, these institutes are not allowed to teach any vocational, technical and such type of education. Every year, thousands of students take part in these institutes affiliated with PBTE and they take part in their respective exams at different times of year.

As the exams of different disciplines are held at different occasions, so the results are also announced according to the schedule of the exams. Usually, PBTE takes two or three months before the announcement of results.
